2022 Assessment process gets underway

The assessment process for GRADAIM Gnó na hÉireann, Glór na nGael's national recognition scheme for Irish in business, began on Monday 5 September.

Fifteen members of Glór na nGael staff are involved with almost 100 businesses across Ireland being assessed in this first year of the new scheme. Accompanying the Glór na nGael staff are approximately 20 local representatives to assist with the assessment in their own areas.

GRADAIM is a national recognition scheme for businesses that use the Irish language as part of the business model, or provide services through Irish to their customers.

2. Branding and Marketing, and

3. Service in Irish

The GRADAIM award is a sign that shows the public that this business respects the Irish language and Irish speakers. It also informs the Irish language community that a certain level of service in our native language can be expected here.

‘Sé a dúirt Frainc Mac Cionnaith, bainisteoir na scéime ná:

“Tá lúcháir orm go bhfuil muid anois faoi lán seoil agus foireann measúnaithe ar an talamh an tseachtain seo sna Gaeltachtaí agus sna bailte fud fad na hÉireann.  Thug sé ardú croí dom saothar na ngnólachtaí ar an Daingean a fheiceáil inniu agus tá tuairiscí maithe ag teacht isteach ó na ceantracha eile.  Comhartha aitheantais a bheidh  i GRADAIM a chuirfidh in iúl don chustaiméir cá mbíonn teacht ar leibhéil eagsúla seirbhíse le Gaeilge ina cheantar féin.  Níl amhras orm ach go bhfuil iarrachtaí iontacha á ndéanamh ag na gnólachtaí atá páirteach ann i mbliana agus go spreagfaidh a saothar agus an t-aitheantas naisiúnta a bhronnfar orthu tuilleadh gnóanna chun tabhairt faoin Ghaeilge a úsáid ina ngnó féin amach anseo”
